Ee Yi was regretting for losing the final set, as he missed a good opportunity to beat their seniors.
The 18-year-old shuttler, said, “It was a heartbreaking defeat for us. We were so close to winning. Fairuzizuan and Soon Hock were so good at front court and we lacked sharpness at the net.”
He further added, “Both Nelson and I have come far since we teamed up two years ago. We are growing more confident.”
Ee Yi appreciated the top Men’s Doubles shuttler, Tan Boon Heong and desires to become like him.
The young player, added, “I have always admired Tan Boon Heong (who forms the national top partnership with Koo Kien Keat) from the start. I like the way he takes control of the game from the back of the court.”
Yi Teo and Nelson Wei will have a chance to prove their supremacy in the upcoming events of Asian Junior Championships and the World Junior Championships.
