Eei h*i, Pei Tty praise Rexy Mainaky and vow to follow his tips for Olympics – Badminton News
The Women’s Doubles pair of Malaysia Chin Eei h*i-Wong Pei Tty commended Rexy Mainaky’s services after his departure and vowed to follow his directions in the 2012 London Olympics.
The badminton guru Rexy announced his resignation as national coach to join the Philippines Badminton Association (PBA) as coaching director from May 1, 2012.
Female doubles experts Eei h*i and Pei Tty were feeling blue at this woeful farewell and they are determined to pocket the full benefits of his presence in the next couple of weeks.
They are planning to have a farewell dinner with Rexy to wish him luck and show their gratitude to the maestro who guided them in their race for glory.
The long serving member of the duo, Pei Tty applauded his brilliance as Rexy supervised them for a short period of time and equipped them with some modern game techniques. She thanked him for helping them to reach new levels.
Pei Tty said, “I am thankful to Rexy for guiding Ee h*i and me. Prior to my injury (knee in 2010), Rexy took Eei h*i and I under his wings and allowed us to spar with the men shuttlers. That was encouraging.”
Rexy, who also was World and Olympic Champion in his era, can be termed as one of the best coaches in Malaysian history as he not only formed a fruitful chemistry between Men’s Doubles team Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong and the female pair Eei h*i-Pei Tty
but he also prepared a complete lot of professional coaches.
The coaching genius trained Eei h*i-Pei Tty so well that now Malaysia will bank on them for a Women’s Doubles crown in the 2012 London Olympics.
However, they are living on the edge as the duo stands at the 16th spot in world rankings and any further slide before May 3 can deprive them of an Olympic ticket.
At this situation, the departure of their mentor may put their stakes in danger but Eei h*i played down all those chances by claiming that they will follow Rexy’s tips during their Olympic preparations.
Eei h*i said, “It is sad to see him leave. He had done his best for us. What we will miss most is his motivation talks. Our preparations will not be affected by his absence as we remember all that he has taught us and we will apply it.”
The Malaysian duo will be looking to put in a good performance at the India Open and Asian Badminton Championships to lift their rankings for a possible spot in the Olympics.
