I'm flying to Canada in 22 days.. or i'm meant to be, but i've just seen on the news that Zoom airlines, the people i'm flying with, are stopping flights??

Is this a temporary thing? I'm worried as i have all my plans booked!

Does anyone have any info on this story?

  1. One important note - Debit cards do not provide the same level of protection as credit cards.  On a credit card, you will be issued a provisional credit as soon as your flight dates have passed.  On a debit card, you will usually not be credited until the claim process is complete, that can take several additional weeks.

  2. According to the story you refer to they have become insolvent.

You should immediately rebook with another airline because you won't be the only one affected and all those other passengers will be trying to get on planes.

I hope you paid by credit card because a claim against the credit card company under section 75 might be the only way to get your money back

  3. I agree with the above poster's suggestion.  This happened to me on a different airline and I was given a full refund from my credit card company (but it did take a few weeks).   What a pain!  You have my sympathies!
