  1. Razor Jim: You couldn't be further from the truth.

The impact on China and the rest of the world has been huge. WTO meant a new set of relatively transparent rules for doing business in and with China. Hence the huge rush to move manufacturing there. In 3 years, 15% of the USA's manufacturing moved to China.

    A few effects on China:

    - large portions of the workforce mobilised to work in the factories

    - huge influx of new technology

    - emergence of a middle class

    - development of mid-management and professionals.

    - move towards service industry base.

  2. Well, the concerns of the Bush Administration were:

    1.  Chinese Communist system is devoid of ideology-according to the West

    2.  China needs trade and investment but it may not be willing to change political system of Communism

    3.  China will always follow rules of WTO terms of trade.

So far, so good...the results I've heard about have been positive as the Chinese are thriving   I don't have a crystal ball as to how well it continues as we are all dependent on the same sources of oil and that has become another concern.

  3. Check it out. Do your own research.

  4. Negligible. China is a communist country that does not play by any set of rules.
