  1. Body shops would not exist except for accidents.

The paint industry has a large stake in accidents (repainting of damaged areas), the parts industry even the used parts industry is booming due to accidents and scrap metal is another that gains from accidents from the writeoffs.

There are a lot of people employed in the above industries that sort of depend on there being accidents as well the towing companies as they pray for inclement weather as they are so busy towing wrecks to body shops.

The automobile has spawned a whole set of businesses from its invention for aftermarket parts and such as people are the variable factor in the operation of them.  People make too many mistakes and so we have accidents and the associated businesses that reap millions (billions) every year from consumers and insurance companies.

So take away all those businesses and how many are out of work?  Not going to happen as long as we have control over the vehicles direction and braking and such.

  2. People needing medical care.

Cost of police and fire personnel responding to accidents.

Loss of productive work time to those involved.

Loss of productive work time for friends to attend funerals

Cost to clean up the road and replace damaged sections,  signs,  and guardrails.

    On the good side.....

Thousands of body shops have work

A booming business in replacement parts

Car thieves and chop shops have work

  3. Everything goes up from repairs to insurance to the cost of living.............
