  1. I'm not sure what you mean by "sternous," but computer screens don't have any permanent effects on the eyes.  They can cause eyestrain, fatigue, or headaches, though.  To reduce these symptoms, make sure to take breaks (look away every 20 minutes for 20 seconds), have adequate room lighting, and have the screen at least arm's length away (further if possible).
