  1. Show "Effy" the money!

    ...... "Effy" all the way!

  2. Ronnie O'Sullivan would win in snooker, Efrin most likely would win in 9 ball, Efren would beat anybody in the world at one pocket.

  3. without question, these two are monsters in their respective fields of snooker and billiards.  I've not seen O'Sullivan perform on the 9 Ball tournaments, but his record in Snooker is one to marvel.

I've known Bata to have won at least one snooker tournament, as he was the Gold medalist in the Southeast Asian Games two decades ago.  He's a bit old to learn new tricks to becoming a fabulous snooker player, but maybe 10 years ago, I'd vote Efren Reyes hands down winner against O'Sullivan in either sport, but right now, I'd leave the snooker to O'Sullivan, and the 9-Ball to Reyes.

  4. When the rocket was over here he couldnt beat anyone at 9 ball much less Bata

Dont forget Reyes was also a Snooker champ "History" he won the first tourn he was ever in -Remember Snooker is just a shot makers game and efren dont miss to many shots

If I lost on the snooker game bet I would triple up on the 9 ball

With a steady bet on Reyes your never going to lose

  5. I agree with no1card Efren is the baddeset one pocket player on the planet.

  6. Not really  Ill take Reyes even in Snooker

ILL take any bet on him in 9 ball

I guess so but some of his Tightest games I have seen him in have been 1 pocket If he has a weak point its the banks

In fact I know someone that got up on him a little playing Bank pool (In 1983)

  7. What most answerers on here seem to miss is the fact that snooker tables are far bigger than Pool tables. This make Ronnie a dead cert for the snooker as he has been playing on them since he was a kid.

  8. Very good answers and opinions so far

9Ball we wont even talk about i have seen Ronnie play not a fault of any kind just not his game

As for Snooker the one thing not mentioned so far is safty play,I think I would give that edge to Efren Ronnie may well get a century break but when Reyes comes to the table it would be real trouble if he shot Ronnie a safe shot Rocket would probley get a hit but could he return the favor and hide Reyes That would be the key and I dont think he could do it

If not he would turn one of the best shot makers in pool loose and be in real troublewith Bata in command of the table until he got tight and just shot another safe shot, and started over

I think that would be the Tempo of the game

In short and not trying to start up But a pool player can think like a snooker player in hardly no time,But it is very diffrent for a snooker player to think like a Pool player,Actualy I think thats why Ronnie didnt fare so well at pool he just got out thought,I dont mean that like stupid but just tactics a pool player uses every day And besides they dont call him Bata for no reason

    Reyes for both

  9. If Reyes would have made such a great snooker player and pool players can think like snooker players so easily, then why with the money that has been in the game of snooker for the last 30 years have so few pool players tried to cash in.

Steve Davis has been past it as far as winning tournaments at the  top level in  snooker for 15 years, but is still pretty decent at 9 ball and has beaten Reyes.

I also think it is strange to here someone say snooker is just a shot makers game, obviously does not know what he is talking about.

In a snooker match I don't think Reyes could beat anyone in the snooker worlds top 16.

From middle pocket to opposite corner a snooker table is almost as long as a competition pool table and the pockets are nowhere near as forgiving as in pool.

O'Sullivan would win the safety battle on the snooker table.

    Reyes would win in pool.

    cont.

Your average frame of snooker also lasts about 20-30 minutes and some more than an hour, that requires a lot of concentration.

John: The reason some snooker players play pool is because it is a bit of fun for them and they can actually turn up and not be embarrassed.

In snooker you will see three and four cushion snooker escapes where the cue ball rests on a red to leave a touching ball many times in every single tournament, and in most matches, but it isn't talked about or highlighted because it is a pretty basic shot that all top level players can perform repeatedly. And again this is done on a larger table where any slight misjudgment in the angles will be magnified.

Another reason some snooker players play pool is because they have the time as there are only 7 or 8 major snooker tournaments a year.

I would agree that comparing pool and snooker is like comparing chess and draughts but I am not sure that you were  equating chess with snooker as I would?

There is absolutly NO money in ladies snooker and not many players
