Question:

Egg-cellent experiment. help me!?

i did an egg experiment with raw eggs to see wat will happen. this is the experiment. i put an uncooked egg in fresh water, and it sank. i put the same egg into a cup with the same amount of water (this time hot water and 14teaspoonful) and it floated.

does it mean things float in salty water? (like the sea?) no. i say so because i did the salt water experiment with other objects and they didn't float. some objects like balled paper and pencil (small) floated. SO PLEASE WHY DO U THINK THE EGG FLOTED IN THE SALTY HOT WATER RATHER THAN THE FRESH WARM WATER. UR HELP IS APPRECIATED

  1. The dissolved salt fits in between the water molecules. This makes the slat water more dense than fresh water, so that things will float more readily in salt water.

  2. Its like the dead sea

Because it has loads of salt in it, it allows people who go in it to float. Maybe it has the same technique with your egg just on a small scale!

  3. When salt was added to the water it became more dense than the egg so it floated.

    This may help:
