Egg donation, experiences wanted.....?

I have seriously been considering egg donation, I'm 24 yrs old and healthy, I have a 5yr old son and am not planning anymore at the moment due to my single status but not ruling it out for the distant future! It's nothing to do with money as it's illegal in the UK to sell your eggs, just thought it would be a decent thing to do and help somebody that isn't as fortunate as I am.

I would like any experiences from ladies that have done this, does it majorly distrupt your life? Do the hormones make u gain weight? What can and can't u do while you're on them (i.e drink alcohol etc)? Does it hurt?

I did this about 1year ago because I needed the money.  I got $3000 for it and I would say it was worth it.  I went through 5 weeks of medications, mainly shots, so you have to be cool with sticking yourself in your abdomen.  I also went in for several different scnas of my ovarise.  It is rather time consuming.  The actual procedure of retreiving the eggs was pretty painful and I have a high pain tolerance.  I don't really remember having any restrictions on diet, just no smoking.
