Question:

Egg white and Egg yolk?

I came across a diet plan and it says to eat scrambled egg whites (with other things). I don't really like eggs in general, perhaps only on the odd occasion but to eat egg whites only, that is just too terrible. I can still deal with egg yolk.

My question is: I want to know what only egg white consists of and what only egg yolk consists of so that I can find a substitute for this egg white.

Thanks.

  1. Egg yolk has a lot of cholesterol and that is why people try to avoid it. You could also buy egg substitute instead of real eggs, it is cholesterol free. But if you don't really like eggs anyway then i would just ignore that part of the diet.

  2. I usually have 2 eggwhites and one yolk so my eggs dont look so white. The white is all protein. The yellow is the bad part of the egg, its all cholesterole. As long as you have like 3 egg whites and one yolk you're good. It tastes fine but stay away from the yellow! If you like omeletes ( i love them) you can make the 3-1 eggs (that I mentioned) and throw in a bunch of green peppers, onions, turkey (not ham), and whatever else you like. It taste good mixed. Make sure you know to use the spray instead of oil and be careful w/ the salt. Long story short....

    White=protein

    yolk=cholesterol

  3. whites are the protective bit it contains about 15% protien, yolk are on e of the only food that contain vit. d also vitamin a e and k 60 calories lecithin and 300mg of colesterol among other things, u should eat the yolk and leave the whites or eat both bits as its a waste to throw away bits cos a diet says so

  4. egg white is most of the protein int he egg, so the diet may be a high protein diet?

  5. its pure protein and only like 20 cals so good luck finding a replacement.
