how long do egg yolks keep if there in a container in the fridge

just the yolks though, not the whites....

Are they raw or cooked? Cooked keeps longer. Yolks should be used within a couple of days.

they will last longer IF you put them in water or pour oil over them

The reason they dont last is that they dry up.

i would say 3 days, then you are risking samonella!

Once out of the shell, you can keep eggs whites for about a week in the refrigerator and egg yolks will keep for two or three days, although be sure to cover them with water.

don't let them go any longer than 5 days. They are not to mess with and the will become very toxic. but then the is are they raw yoks or cooked. cooked 5 days and raw 3 days.

I always have leftover egg yolks and whites. I store both in an airtight container for weeks in the fridge. I have never had any actually go bad. I do tend to throw them out if I haven't used them in two weeks or so. Just keep them airtight

You can freeze yolks. They don't resusitate quite as well as whites, but you can use them for cooking or baking. It helps to add a bit of salt or sugar to them, depending on whether you'll be using them for something sweet or savory
