Question:

Eggbeater cleat circles?

I'm a racer and like the harder realse tension, so what side do I put the cleat with circles on it?

Do I want earlier or later realse angle?

This is my 3rd year with clip in pedels.

Thanks

  1. Tell your mechanic what you want.

  2. You can't change the tension on eggbeaters, just the angle of release.  The cleat with the circles should be on your right shoe if you want the earlier release angle (less float).

Try it out both ways and see how you like it.  It depends on your preference, shoe sole, and riding style.  I like it on my right shoe.

If you're an aggressive racer and ever have problems coming out of your pedals over rough ground or climb-overs, then you might consider getting a platform-style clip pedal like the Acid or Candy.  I love Crank Bros. pedals...they're on all of my bikes.  Good stuff and a great company.
