Someone told me that South Beach Diet has a recipe for chocolate cake where you substitute eggs, milk and oil for the coke. I think Is it good, and can I get the exact recipe? It is using a box cake right? Thank you.

  1. I know Weight Watchers has a similar recipe that I have done.  Take any box of cake mix and instead of adding egg and oil, you add 12 oz of any carbonated soda.  Bake as normal.

I did this with strawberry cake mix and watermelon carbonated water.  It was very good.  I even did it with mini cupcake pans and froze them so when I want something little and sweet I pop one in the microwave for 8 seconds and have a fresh tasting little bite size cupcake.

  2. Well, I doubt that it exists, seeing as Coke, zero calories or not, does not contain the same scientific properties as eggs, milk, and oil. The eggs work as a binder and a fat, which coke has neither properties. The oil is also a fat, which is essential to a good, moist cake with a nice texture. And, the milk is dairy, which is important for flavor, as well as texture. Good luck finding it, but I don't think it really exists (and if it does, I doubt it would be worth eating).

  3. I have done the recipe and it works, but thats only because the mixes contain some egg products, so if you dont want to eat eggs like if you are a vegan it doesnt really work out.

But is having eggs in your diet doesnt bother you replacing the eggs milk and oil for diet soda does work!

No pudge brownie mix is also great... its fat free and you just add yogurt. Really good!

  4. i think there's a recipe at www.fatfree.com

but it uses packet cake.. dont know about the fat content and stuff..
