Question:

Eggs make me feel sick?

Last night I had scrambled eggs for tea (made with two egg whites and one yolk) and I felt really sick after it - like a brick had hit my stomach..

I've always liked eggs before now - and they've never made me feel like that so I put it down to just a dodgy tummy. So tonight I made an omelette using two egg white and a yolk again and the same thing has happened.

Can anyone explain what this might be? How could I have all of a sudden developed an aversion to eggs? I've checked and they're in date and I did the 'egg floating or sinking in water' test on the others in the pack and they're all lying at the bottom of the jug which I've been told is a good sign.

  1. I can't take eggs with tea or coffee without feeling nausea or sick, am fine if I have egg without any beverage (water if OK) - very strange. Must be a chemical combination some of us can tolerate and others can't. This problem is worse in the mornings too. Sometimes I've taken a chance late afternon and grabbed an egg sandwich with tea and been fine, but in the morning I get ill every time.

  2. eggs and tea in combination makes me instantly vomit too. why i have no idea.

  3. For some reason if I eat scrambled eggs and have a cup of tea with it, I get sick.  I don't get sick with other scrambled egg & beverage combinations. it took me a long time to figure it out because I've always been a morning tea drinker and never thought a particular food combination could cause the problem. Still don't know why it does.
