Egocentric Butt ignores Younis Khan
Younis Khan has once again been denied a slot in the National team. He apparently did not get clearance from PCB. The Pakistan Cricket Board has made a habit out of denying the senior most cricketers any peace of mind let alone a place in the national team. Instead of Younis, Mohammad Hafeez has been selected to play for the national side, a player whose one day batting average is worse than Mohammad Amir’s. He will now be expected to provide the Pakistani middle order with some stability. Has the PCB lost its mind?
Hafeez managed to score only 4 half centuries in the last 48 international appearances he has made, the player has a batting stance with little footwork almost always being the cause of his dismissal. If PCB argues with the logic that Hafeez is a promising all rounder, well the stats speak otherwise. In the 48 ODI matches he has played as a bowler, he has managed to take just 38 wickets with a bowling average of almost 34. Besides, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has had little issues from its bowling department as far as the tour of England is concerned with the bowlers performing brilliantly.
On the contrary, Younis Khan has a batting average in ODI’s in excess of 32 and has also scored 6 centuries and 37 half centuries for the national side. Sometimes, the cricketing fans are left to wonder if the PCB is smoking grass. It certainly seems so, and they should be tested for drug abuse. The PCB officials under the auspices of the honorable Mr. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 have completely gone off the deep end, turning Pakistan cricket into a lame act of comedy."Even today I asked the chairman about Younis, but could not get clearance," exclaimed the exasperated Afridi who wanted Khan's inclusion in the 16 man squad. Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousaf have been an asset for Pakistan cricket and have held the team together on the field whenever the top order collapsed. However, nothing must be expected out of Hafeez or for that matter even Fawad Alam who will not be able to come up to par with the brilliance of Younis Khan, a crafty player who has the ability to knock the ball maintaining a decent strike rate and improvising according to the circumstances.
As if the exclusion of Younis Khan was not a blow to Pakistan, Shoaib Akhtar has been included in the team. The bowling attack is perfect for Pakistan at the moment with no place for Shoaib who has gained so many gluttons that it is hard for him to jog let alone run despite a spate of liposuction surgeries by the injury prone bowler. Wahab Riaz, Amir, Asif, Gul and Ajmal offer the perfect bowling attack that can trouble any opposition. The egocentric Mr. Ijaz seems to have developed personal differences with the former captain who has somehow not been able to gain clearance from the PCB, for reasons unknown to cricket fans.
In yet another interesting development, the country’s senate committee on rules of procedures and privileges has demanded the removal of Ijaz Butt while dismissing his attempts to make amends by sending a letter of apology after he supposedly insulted the committee. The committee has sent a letter to the president of Pakistan demanding his removal from PCB. "He (Butt) came ill-prepared, he took things lightly and couldn’t convince the Committee that he had not insulted the lawmakers," Tahir Mashadi, Chairman of the senate committee said.
Legend has it that Ijaz Butt does not prepare for battle, but rather the battle prepares itself for him. Despite scathing criticism, he doesn’t seem to have an iota of conscience left that would make him give in his resignation while he refuses to mend his ways despite being fully aware of the fact that he is testing the patience of many people around him. Mr. Butt does not command their well wishes, and now has the added weight of Younis praying for Mr. Butt’s early resignation so he could return to International cricket.
