  1. Sharm El Sheikh

  2. Oh dear,  the thumbs down fairies have been at it again!

I live in Sharm so obviously i am a lover of this place, the only other place i would consider living is Alexandria.

As for Turkey, we have holidayed there, in both Marmaris & Icmeler. Icmeler is the quiter resort of the two, lots of Austrian influence in the buildings. It is in a crescent,as another mentioned, so i don't advise this area if either of you have problems walking or climbing.

The natives are friendly people(over friendly at times, i thought Egyptian men liked the women but the Turks beat them hands down&unfortunately they have no scrupples). Most hotels are nice & some  situated close to the beach. The best entertainment is a taxi ride away in Marmaris & even further afield(like 2hours + by coach), which for me has been spoilt by the erection of a huge  fun fair. Prices are on par with Sharm & you can purchase almost the same goods.Unfortunately, there is not much to do in the way of trips unless you travel miles, this can also be very costly.Or you can just chill on the beach, which incidently was more shingle than sand but they do have sun beds&umbrellas to hire at an additional cost.

If you want a fun packed holiday with lots of nice bars, nightclubs & restaurants then Sharm is the place for you both. You will be given the biggest welcome by the Egyptians, they are so friendly&have great sense of humour, you will always make friends here & have a laugh& a joke non stop. On the other hand if you want a more restful holiday then choose Icmeler, you can always taxi to Marmaris if you fancy a boogie.

Close by there are lots of activities that you can do, diving is the No; 1, snorkelling is the other, boat trips, banana boat, paragliding.water sking+ many other day time activities in the hotels which have animation teams. Visit to Ras Mohamed, St. Catherines Monestary, Jeep Safari, go carting, formula 1 race track, golf courses.plus lots lots more.

I don't know where one of the answerers visited, to say Sharm is boring is ridiculous & holidays are only what you make them! All the hotels here have their own private beaches & sun beds, umbrellas& beach towels are always included!

You have my honest views on both places&maybe u think i am a tad bias(not so much to give thumbs down though)it's all a question of preference! Your decision!

Whatever/wherever you decide i wish you both a great holiday.

  3. Ismaillia!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Sharem is not that great... its been over run

Turkey ive never been but would assume is ALOT better.

  5. For sure Icmeler

Sharm el sheikh when you have ran out of places

  6. Sharm El Sheikh no doubt, I go there every year and love, have a nice time.

  7. Turkey Icmeler because there's more stuff to see and theres a real atmospher to everything. It will be great as well as there is a port, some great views. You'll enjoy it. Temperature is warm and not baking! You and your girlfriend will have fun!

In Sharm El Sheikh Egypt there's not much you can do unless you're really into watersports and scuba diing seeing the fish. Its also like 40 degrees out there so its pretty hot!!

If you want to go to Egypt its better to see the Pyramids and tombs and everything because its a lot more fascinating and natural and you really get the sense of Egypt's atmosphere, culture and history and how much it means to them!

  8. Icmeler, it is in a crescent-shape between the mountains and the sea, so cannot be overdeveloped. You can hear the muezzin call the faithful to prayer 5 times per day. When we were there, some young guys who had a tour of the mosque switched the recording of the call to prayer with another. People were outraged later that day when "Brown Girl In The Ring" was played all over the village.
