mmmm... I have that feeling that a lot of Egyptians don't like Gamal Abdel Nasser. I would like to ask why? leeh?

I always thought Egyptians like him, because he wanted to unite all. And when he resigned from office, millions of people went out and wanted him back. And when he died, also there was a lot of people by his funeral.

Can you please explain me why don't you like him or why do you like him?!

  1. look he was thawry kol el krarat thawrya and citizens in this time was need that but what we face now is because of his faults may be because of people around him or may be because he was mono i mean hear only him self its complicated Egypt was better before him i mean the revolution its self is ok but to make it republic thats what i wasn't with him in to kick out england thats ok but to kick out the king no because we are now not republic nor kingdom we are lost now between both

  2. I believe in the saying "good intentions is not enough", even if he had good intentions, Egyptian people and economy are still suffering from the practices of his government.

he was very proud of his theories, but this doesn't give him the right to oppress, banish, jail, and kill every one who opposed him, I blame his government for all the extremism that appeared in Egypt. "Extremists are for Extremists"

    I consider him an Extremist.

and about people who lived at this age, it was very difficult for them to know the consequences of his acts, they were just happy by the land that he gave to the farmers, and the speeches that they used to listen to in the radio, it was more like brainwashing.

One of the best traits of the egyptians is that they are very loyal to their leader, that's what make their army invincible when led by a strong leader, and no one can deny the leadership of Nasr and that he was able to find his way to their heart, so they just followed him blindely. and about the loss in 67 it was only a battle, Egypt may lose a battle but never lose a war and this what makes Egypt one of the most ancient civilizations in the world.

    N.B.

This is just my own opinion, and I'm not sure how many Egyptians agree with me.

  3. yeah..count me in with those who don't like him =P

even though i wasn't born in his era,nor in the Sadat's era...but i read about him and dad told me about him.

over all he was an emotional person, which was not fit to be president, like u said,he cared about the unity bla bla bla..

he was a great planner and talker but never good and making these things,he made us lose Sinai, and the country faced its worst days in 67...and communism, omg and the Socialism!!!

and locking many ppl in jail specially the Islamic group was not a very smart move of him, because that lead to the increase of extremism in Egypt.

i don't say that Sadat didn't do mistakes, but he was a better president overall and lead Egypt to victory...

  4. Personally I think he was the best president around. He really kept the country together and back then there was no division between religions in Egypt. God rest his soul...

  5. because egyptians by7ebo ye3al2oo fashelhom 3ala gamal abd el naser

    only old ppl love him

  6. I agree with Aster, aldobon and ranousha,

We don't like Nasser bcoz he is a crazy man, that's it, bcoz he always dream of crazy things and he never planed well for his dreams, and also i dont like his dreams, WE will always be different and we were always different , rich and poor,

I will not talk alot abt this , bcoz i dont have time and also it makes me angry bcoz allllllllll this bad things in Egypt now and this bad behaviors from most of the Egyptians are bcoz of his ideas and his anger from rich people and from his government.

He was very good in speeches and in making people believing his ideas , but he doesn't have any any any wisdom, courage or mind.

  7. because he sawa7na, because he lost Sinai and because he destroyed democracy in egypt.
