Egypt questions?

Im going to Egypt with my partners family to meet his fathers side of the family as well as to relax obviously!

Ive been told i need to cover up unless I am inside the hotel complex, I do understand the reason for this as theree religion is completyly differant, but i just want some advice like would 3/4 pants and a strappy top be okay or does cover up mean long tops no skirts/shorts etc.... thanks

As you are going to meet family i would reccomend that when you are with them you cover the tops of your arms, and most of your legs. So longer skirts (below the knee)  so 3/4 trousers are probably ok but full trousers would be better. Short sleeves are ok. When you are not meeting the family you can wear what you want. Dont wear a low cut top with the family. They are unlikely to say anything  about your clothing or to even indicate that it worries them but they will notice.

I guess it would be OK to wear something like that. By covering up it's meant not to wear a stomach top and short. (not showing too much skin)

Look, Egyptians are gonne be looking anyway, and that's not just the case with foreigners. Most girls here are being looked at no matter what she was wearing. And you'll see that it's true.

Just dress properly and do whatever you like in the complex.

I would add, that you could ask your partner what is appropriate to wear. It is best to err on the conservative side.

You don't have to cover up it is up to you.  However you will receive unwanted attention if you show a lot of flesh but i doesn't mean you have to be 100% covered.  When you outside the hotel complex wear something that covers at least the shoulders so a nice t-shirt or top will be suffice also make sure it is not to low cut.  For the lower half yo can wear shorts skirts anything but it is better if they at least come to your knee.  The more you cover the less hassle you will get even if you are with your partner it will not stop some people from looking, saying things.  

Egypt is going to be very hot so loose clothing will make you feel more comfortable too.  

Egyptians are used to seeing tourists wearing different clothes so it will not be a shock what ever you wear but to avoid attention cover at least the shoulders and the knee.

You can wear whatever u want in egypt. You dont have to cover up. I am from Egypt and when i go there i wear a miniskirt and a strappy top no one cares!!!!

It is OK to wear cotton T shirts and cotton loose skirts for the heat.

You do not have to cover up completely. 3/4 pants are fine. just do not show your tummy or waist line.
