Question

Do you know any stay at home fathers? Do you think that you could be one? Would you ladies mind if the man said he wanted to stay at home with the children and you go and and work, what would you think?

I actually don't know any. and I don't think I can do myself.

I see what my wife does at home, and I really admire and appreciate the effort, it is above my capability to be honest with you. She also does it with ease, like peace of cake !!

It is not about looking after the kids, it is about all the cooking, cleaning, washing, shopping,....etc. It is a full time job. I try to help of course, but many time I come home late and tired after several days away, and she asks me to rest and not do my usual part. (Thanks to Allah for this gift)

If men think that it is easy to stay and look after the house and kids, then think again !

If my husband asked me if he could stay with the children i would be delighted.  I am tired of the stereotype that women have to stay at home while the man rules the money and job.  If my man does not offer to stay at home then i guess i would force him half the time and the other half i would stay at home.     The relationship should be equal and he can learn how to be good around the children as well as i can.  I can earn money as well as he can.

i dont know any Egyptian or Arab couples who do that but an Austrian couple I know actually are like that ...

i dont accept the idea of a stay at home fathers .

the man 's role is to go out to work.

if i have the facilities to work and leave my children in good hands , that would be fine .

if not , i would take a leave from work and take care of my kids .

I would definitely disagree. if anyone is staying at home and raising the kids that would be me!

I don't know people like this in Egypt, and I don't think it will be easy or acceptable for him or his wife or kids too.
