  1. There are many different categories of Egyptian literature - ancient authors, Islamic authors, Christian authors....

    Not sure which one you're looking for.

    The first Egyptian to win the Nobel prize for literature was Naguib Mahfouz in 1914.

    Notable Egyptian writers - Taha Husayn, Yusuf Idris, Sonallah Ibrahim, Tawfiq al-Hakim, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Naguib Mahfouz.
