  1. travel agents dont' cost per say and they can tell yo uthat is best way to find out.

  2. Hi,

Yes, you can book yourself and the price is round about £80 for a return flight, and they start at 6am.

or you can go to the tourist shops and book an excursion. This will cost you about £120, but that is inclucing you bus tour of Cairo, you entrance fee into the Cairo museum, your lunch, and the pyramids. On our trip we also went to a perume factory and a papyrus museum.

All depends where you book it, some of the itinerary differs. but its a great day. you leave early moring and your hotel will provide a packed breakfast for you. then you get home about 9.30 pm

    enjoy!

  3. There will be opportunities to book with your tour rep or your hotel when you arrive there - dont worry, there will be chances to go theree, tourist areas arfe always putting on excursions etc to make money  but it is a good opportunity and good value to take a flight,

  4. It is a very long bus ride from Sharm to Cairo, it takes about 4 to 5 hours by bus and then a taxi to the pyramids that's another 1 or 2 hours. So yes the best thing is to go through internal flights which takes about 45 minutes but try to book the flights before coming to Egypt cos it is really a high season in August and you might not be able to find tickets easily.

  5. Hi there ,

An overday trip to Cairo with the plane could be a good idea and an easy task to be done

I am a tour operator and i always prepare such overday trips but to Luxor and Aswan for Cairo's clients including everything (Air tickets , airport transfer , sightseeing trip with a guide and back to the airport)

Here's my typical program for a day in Cairo ... booking from Sharm early in the morning to be here around 8am ... a van /car in the airport to the Pyramids , 2 to three hours , lunch in a place with the country side atmosphere , Sakkara , The carpet institution where ou can see a live show for a hand made carpets , the Papyrus institution and perfum shop then back to airport around 6 to 7 pm

If you have more time we can go to any fun place

You can book the tickets and i can prepare you the van , guide to take you from door to door

PS : if you need anything in Sharm i still have my connectios over there

    Regards

  6. Yes there are internal flights. You will see the pyramids and the Sphinx. If you were travelling that distance you would also want to see the musueum in CCairo where most of the treasures including Tutankamun are displayed

  7. There should be no problem in getting an internal flight with Egypt Air from Sharm to Cairo and then going to the Giza plateau by taxi.

You should negotiate a price with the driver before leaving the airport and make it clear you want him to wait for you and then take you back to the airport, or if you have time on to the Saqqara pyramid complex.

You can expect to pay around 100LE-150LE for a half day taxi booking to Giza and return.

But expect the drivers to first give you outlandish quotes, that's just the way its done!

I've heard of tourists paying 100LE+ to go straight from the airport to their hotel in Cairo.

There is no way I would ever pay more than 150LE for the 1/2 day booking to Giza and neither should you have to.

Another alternative is to make a booking with a private driver who has a/c this could very likely be done though your hotel in Sharm, as everyone in Egypt has a cousin who knows, or is related to someone who can organise it,whatever "IT" may be.

For a private driver to pick you up from the airport at an agreed time, drive you to the Giza complex, wait for you and then return you to the airport should cost you around 100LE. ..

Enjoy your time at the Giza complex ,you only need around 2-3 hours to see everything as well as enter the Great Pyramid.

Be very wary of the camel owners, the prices they ask for a 1/2 hour ride around the site are often outrageous.

You should never pay more than 60LE, and that is quite generous,....just remember to lean back when the camel is standing up or sitting!
