  1. thanks for the cautionary note .

what you are describing used to happen in the past .

now , every family is an independent unit .

we are nice and warm with our big families , but they dont interfere in our affairs .

if someone is tempted to interfere , the son /daughter  has a strategy that doesnt encourage the meddling .

    dont worry .

just rub a kiss on your mother inlaw's cheek !

    she will love you !

  2. it is some kind of a cultural norm in our society, to raise kids in a shame-being way and with the fear of being socially rejected because he is not following the norms. like study in order to love you, eat your sandwich so God will love you... and so on. another bad way is to compare them to other famelies' children.

They think they are doing them some good. but this kind of raising develops the sense of tripal behavours in the society (like some pop singers fans, i dont know why they take as a matter of life or death if you dont like their singer), and kills creativity as children are afraid to try new things and follow their real ambitions.. so you find them all brainwashed thourgh their childhood to seek medicine colleger or engineering college.. no matter what they are passionate for.

The problem that these kids when they grow up they become aware of their parents mistakes, however they still proceed to repeat the same ways with their future children. Moreover it could be worse: sometimes these families deal with their children or their family issues in general as a decoration for theri social images.

emotional abuse happens to with elderly ppl specially in poor families, where the old man/woman lacks the enough possesions that grantess his/her son or family still interested to care about him/her...

at last things are changing now and ppl are becomeing aware of this kind of negative cultural norms in our society, this because of the effect of the drama, the media, and also the emerging new frogien education systems (which however still have many other negative effects). but the problem still remains in slum areas, and low income families on the financial level, and the education level as well.
