Eight local’s to feature in the John Deere Classic
Eight players, having ties with Augusta National, will take to the field at this year’s John Deere Classic. The event tees off on the 12th of July at the TPC Deere Run.
Steve Stricker will be looking to write his name in history books with his four consecutive victories at the John Deere Classic. He has defended his title three times in a row.
However, as for the spectators, it will be a treat as many local golfers will be heading to the field. Blake Adams, Scott Brown, Will Claxton, Brian g*y, Charles Howell, Kevin Kisner, Patrick Reed and Vaughn Taylor are in the field this time around.
Reed initially had to come through a Monday qualifier but in the end he was granted sponsors’ exemption.
This is good news for Augusta fans as they will have more players to cheer for. It is always good to be playing at a familiar environment, it helps calm down the nerves. Home crowd advantage, combined with a little bit of luck, can surely make things go
in one’s favour.
Home support can always boost the confidence of a player, which in return raises the standard of the game at any tournament.
With many familiar faces featuring at the John Deere Classic, a large number of spectators are expected to make their way to the TPC Deere Run.
This a good chance for organisers to sell tickets, they can cash in on the local appearances. Plus, with Steve Stricker looking to make it four years in a row at the John Deere Classic, many fans will follow him around during the course of four days.
Recently, Steve has sought advice from one of the legends of the game, Tiger Woods.
If Steve manages to win at TPC Deere Run this yearm he will be the fifth man to win an event four times consecutively. Steve loves to play here and he is backing himself up to achieve something unique.
"This is the type of golf course that I have grown up on," Stricker said. "I can drive from (Madison), and it is comfortable surroundings”.
With Eight locals featuring this year at the John Deere Classic and Steve Stricker aiming to achieve a glorious feat, a huge turnout is expected during the week.
