Eight players who might be on the move this summer – English Premier League (Part 1)
Some of these players are on wages that rival Steve Jobs’ pay package at Apple whilst others are just a waste of space in the 25 man league squads that are now a mandatory requirement for any team competing in the English Premier league, so let’s take a look at the players who might be on the top of their club’s “departure lists”...
Wes Brown
The Manchester United defender who is a versatile was at the centre of their UEFA Champions League triumph in 2008 when they defeated http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in that eventful final in Moscow. The experienced Englishman has been a pivotal part of Manchester United’s success in the past fifteen years. Not only did he play a major role in their run to the final in 2008 but he was also a part of their UEFA Champions League winning squad in 1999, a triumph which sealed a historic treble for the Red Devils.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson at Old Trafford. From what we have learned from our experiences, anyone who messes with the veteran manager at Manchester United does not get to see much first team action and in a worst case situation, he is sold by the club. Brown only made seven English Premier League appearances for Manchester United as they marched onto their historic 19th English league title win.
Now speculation surrounds the veteran defender as Ferguson is trying to sell him to the highest bidder. Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Sunderland are all interested in the defender’s signature but his wages are a stumbling block in the negotiations. With the rise of Rafael da Silva and the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Smalling, there is no place for Brown at United anymore, therefore he is a favourite to leave Old Trafford this summer, even if means a pay cut for the Englishman.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermaine-Jenas-c18362
Tottenham’s midfielder is surplus to requirements at the White Hart Lane stadium due to the presence of Luka Modric, Huddlestone, Rafael Van der Vaart, Wilson Palacios and Sandro. It will be interesting to see whether or not Harry Redknapp decides to sell Jenas who is clearly a burden on the wage http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422, two players who definitely deserve a pay rise.
However the important thing to note here is related to the question as to whether or not Jenas will be willing to seek a move away from Tottenham. The Englishman is not in contention for a regular starting place in the English national team line up. He is not going to get the present wages at any other club in the English Premier League and he is definitely not going to be playing in a team which is contending for a UEFA Champions League place. This might mean that the former Newcastle United man will be relegated to the Tottenham bench for most part of the season but with the place on the bench comes a fat pay check as well.
