Italian football has been heavily criticized for not providing youngsters with adequate opportunities from the start of their careers in the past. However, trends seem to have changed as seen in the past few years. Several exciting
young talents have been unearthed in the past couple of seasons, as a lot of teams are planning to save their millions in the transfer market.
Bettor.com will now present a list of some exciting young players who could make a name for themselves in the Serie A.
Alexander Merkel (Genoa)
The German U-19 international is one of the most exciting young talents in the league and has proved it during his brief stay at A.C Milan. Merkel was sold to Genoa in 50% co-ownership deal during the summer transfer window and
the move will give him more chances to develop; as he will get more first team opportunities at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
The 19-year-old can play in an array of midfield positions but his preferred role is in the central midfield. The Kazakh born midfielder is widely known for his brilliant passing and having a mature head despite a very young age.
Merkel is tipped to make a huge impact next season and if he manages to start the season well a call-up to the German national team for Euro 2012 might come calling for him.
Michele Camporese (Fiorentina)
The highly rated centre-back emerged to the scene in the 2010/11 season and showed immense promise in the 9 games he played. The defender proved to be a thorn in the flesh of the strikers and his commanding display against Juventus
promises a bright future for the Italian U-21 star.
The 19-year-old has drawn comparisons with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giorgio-Chiellini-c14963 for his aerial prowess and composure on the pitch. Several top teams have already started to monitor the Fiorentina youth product but the Viola club
are ready to tie him with a new long term contract. Camporese is expected to make a breakthrough in the Viola first-team in the upcoming season and it could prove to be a career defining season for the youngster.

Kozak is one of the most exciting young strikers in the Serie A and had a decent 2010/11 season with Lazio. Injury problems handed the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 star a chance to impress and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. His
impressive double strike in Lazio’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina was his standout performance of the season.
The 2011/12 season promises to be a breakthrough season for the striker and manager, Edy Reja, has admitted that Kozak’s form in the last season has started giving him selection headaches. The Biancazzurri have signed strikers,
Djibril Cisse and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 during the summer transfer window but the former Brescia loanee will give them a tough time in making it to the starting line-up.
