Either Lance Armstrong was innocent, or the UCI was corrupt” Doctor Michele Ferrari
USADA’s detailed investigation into Lance Armstrong has disclosed many hidden faces that used unfair means to achieve the desired results throughout their professional career.
The American used systematic doping with his former team US Postal and involved several of his teammates with him.
USADA’s examination was detailed enough to make 26 cyclists confess of their wrongdoings however, Armstrong decided to stay on the path he had chosen for himself which ultimately lead him to disgrace and embarrassment in front of all his fans.
UCI officially stripped him off from all the victories since 1998 including the seven overall victories at the Tour de France 2012 along with a life ban from the sport.
All the cyclists that admitted to doping were given a reduced six-month ban as they helped USADA in building a strong case against Armstrong.
11 of the total cyclists tat testified were Lance’s former teammates at Team US Postal including, Frankie Andreu, Michael Barry, Tom Danielson, Tyler Hamilton, George Hincapie, Floyd Landis, Levi Leipheimer, Stephen Swart, Christian Vande Velde, Jonathan
Vaughters and David Zabriskie.
However, one mane that managed to escape the dilemma, despite severe controversy is that of Doctor Michele Ferrari.
Several cyclists including, Christian Vande Velde, George Hincapie, Floyd Landis, Tyler Hamilton, Michael Barry and Levi Leipheimer provided evidence but he dismissed all the allegations stating that he never helped Armstrong in all of this and call it a
controversy against him.
“What I can say about the USADA investigation is that there is no evidence, in particular no evidence against me,” Ferrari said.
“I can say also there is no evidence, no smoking gun about the accusations. Probably I can suppose that for some of these athletes, the federal investigation was able to demonstrate their doping practice, which they organised by themselves, and to save themselves,
they agreed with the USADA conspirations [sic],” he concluded.
Michelle also believes that Armstrong was clean and never had anything to do with doping, “So, either he was clean – and in my opinion, he was clean and he says he was clean – or the tests are not powerful, Or the UCI was corrupt”.
Unlike Lance Armstrong who decided not to contest USADA’s decision, Ferrari stated that he is still in process of challenging his life ban.
