El Clasico: Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Lionel Messi - the fate of the La Liga title hangs in the balance
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will be testing their skills face to face in the biggest match of the season on November 29 at Camp Nou. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are in a close battle for the top spot in the league with
the thus far unbeaten Real Madrid side currently heading the chart, one point ahead of Barcelona. Meanwhile, the star players of both teams seem to be scoring for fun this season.
Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in a 5-1 home win over Athletic Bilbao last weekend to continue his goal-scoring form. The most expensive transfer in the history of the game has been proving his value in every match. The 25-year-old
striker faced disappointment last year when Messi top-scored the league, but now seems to be determined to take the spot for himself. Ronaldo is currently at the top of the goal-scoring list with 14 goals in 12 league games and one can see that he is hungry
for more. His transfer from the English Premier League runners-up team Manchester United left Man Utd fans quite unhappy, especially since it took team manager Sir Alex Ferguson a long time to find a suitable replacement. Ronaldo, meanwhile, has taken his
game-winning skills to Real Madrid, and continues to be hailed by most football fans as the best player in the world.
Messi is not far behind, just one goal away from stealing Ronald’s place on the league goal-scoring table. The Argentinian striker played a vital role in Barcelona’s weekend win against Almeria, by scoring his fifth league hat-trick.
The 8-0 win against Almeria has earned Barcelona second place on the league table so far. Messi’s team members believe him to be the backbone of the team, and predict that he will be the top goal-scorer by the end of the Spanish League, especially as he still
has a cushion of two games in his pocket. Like Ronaldo, Messi is also a Golden Boot recipient and lauded by some as the best footballer in the world.
Both Ronaldo and Messi are the star players of their respective teams and are currently in top form. Their every goal thus far has been a joy for fans to watch. The real test of strength and agility is yet to come, however, when
the two Giants of the Spanish League face each other in what will undoubtedly be a breathtaking match on November 29th. For football fans, it will be a treat to watch not just the clash of the titans that is Barcelona versus Real Madrid, but the
goal-scoring race that will take place between the teams’ electrifying superstars.
