El Clasico – Ronaldo vs. Messi: Cristiano Ronaldo all set for clash of the titans
Top Spanish League scorer Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to face any opponent. The Portuguese striker is confident he will play well in an extraordinary contest when two giants of the Spanish League come face to face in the most-awaited match of the last few weeks. A match between Real Madrid and Barcelona is a pleasure to watch and soothing to spectator eyes across the globe. Both teams are unpredictable and no one can forecast which team can take a lead; the stage is set, though, and both teams are fired up to face one another in Barcelona’s home ground on Monday.
Despite having the upper hand of a single point, Ronaldo is reported to have said that he still believes that Barcelona is a great team and a difficult proposition to beat as both teams are neck to neck in the League rankings. Ronaldo being the top scorer would be looking forward to score early goals and putting his team in the lead as early as possible. This kind of confidence is needed to play a match of such a huge importance as Barcelona also has players that have a long history of class such as Lionel Messi, Xavi and Iniesta.
“We know that it won’t be easy because Barcelona are a fantastic team,” said Ronaldo. “They’ve got great players and they’ve got a good sure. But, I promise you that it’s going to be a very interesting match.”
“This Madrid side has changed compared to what it was last season. We haven’t lost a match in La Liga or in the Champions League. El Clasico will be very exciting and since we’re in a good form at the moment, I think we will win it.
“I think that the team has matured. I can say that there’s no better time for us to play at the Camp Nou.
“We shouldn’t be concerned by any Barcelona player in particular but against the whole team, although it’s true that sometimes, individuals stand out.”
He added that both teams differ in playing technique. He praised Barcelona and said that they are a great team with a distinctive style of offense and defence and with their short passes and possession containing ability, they would definitely be giving Madrid a tough time on the field.
No matter what the press has to stay about the match, one thing is for sure: Ronaldo’s ability to take long runs and ability to shoot from distances. The Real striker is in rare form and hungry for goals to be able to retain his goal-lead over opponent Messi. Messi, on the other hand, is lying low but we all know that he likes to score goals as much as Ronaldo does. Considering the outcome of last year’s fixture between the two sides, with Barcelona leading the league with only a single point, we are in for a spectacular match yet again.
Real and Barca both have tremendous amount of talent in their squads and it is really difficult to say which team will be victorious. Barcelona will definitely be putting Real’s offensive style of play to the test. Ronaldo would be looking forward to score early and turn free-kick chances into goals and only time will tell the outcome of this clash of the titans.
