  1. It was a legend taken place in Colombia

  2. The City that was supposedly El-Dorado : this legend comes from the time when Francisco Pizzaro, a conquistador from Spain, was subjugating the Incas with brutal tactics. The incan culture was spread over modern Peru and Chile. Their capital was cuzco.

Pizzaro was torturing the Incas, to give him more gold. To the Incas,  gold was plentiful, and supposedly so plentiful that even the streets and bathhouses were made of gold. The more that Pizzaro heard of it, the more he wanted.

However, the greed of the Spanish reached a level when Pizzaro murdered the Incan ruler, who incidentally was in his captivity. The Incan high priests then immediately threw in the gold (so the story goes) in the lake somewhere and the incan empire fell, and their city where so much gold was available, was lost to the jungle.

So, if you want to search for el-dorado, look for an anomalous blip (maybe a blip on your magnetometer or a similar device, showing a large amount of metal is present) somewhere in the vast jungles of Peru or Chile. If you lead an expedition, gimme a shout, maybe I will join you too!!
