El Mcglynn likely to finish first at Kempton – Maiden Stakes Preview
El Mcglynn, a black filly trained by John O’Shea, will be looking to register the maiden victory of her career when she takes on half a dozen competitors in 32red Casino Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Kempton racecourse on Thursday, March 1.
The Class 5 contest of 6f distance is scheduled to start at 6:40 (GMT). The prize money for the event is £2,264.
El Mcglynn is geared up to run against Mollyow, Buckley Boy, Nothing’s Simple, Heartsong, Perfect Fantasy and Yarra Valley.
Though El Mcglynn has been winless so far since making debut in June 2011, but the energetic runner has registered some decent performances in her short career.
It seems that the Michael G McGlynn-owned filly has gained a lot of confidence since the dawn of 2012. After finishing second in a race on February 9, the three-year-old runner again clinched second spot, being a 6-4 favourite, in her last outing at Lingfield
on February 18.
These two outstanding performances seem to have hiked her morale greatly. She is supposed to carry forward this momentum and show a big run in her first ever outing at Kempton today.
If the filly manages to run to her utmost and keep her stamina unnerved, she has as high as 80 percent chances to make a breakthrough which she has been waiting for since almost a year.
Among other six runners, Heartsong and Yarra Valley are too likely to run well today and gain second and third spots respectively in the event.
Heartsong has run for four times so far since making her debut in July 2011. In her last start on February 17, 2012 at Lingfield, John Gallagher’s black filly finished fourth.
She now seems to be in a position to notch up second position at Kempton today.
Yarra Valley showed excellent performance in her first and last outing on August 7, 2011 and finished seventh. Willie Musson’s novice runner is likely to finish third in her second race today.
There is going be a heated competition today at Kempton. Let us see who of the above trio earn her maiden triumph. Good luck to all the runners.
