The AC Milan youngster is already thinking about being a part of the Italian national side despite having made just two appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 Under-21.
Stephan El Shaarawy has expressed his dream of joining the Italian national side for the upcoming Euro 2012.
The 19-year-old is hoping to emulate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163, who made his Italy debut in their last friendly against USA.
The AC Milan forward insisted that he is totally focussed on giving his best wherever he plays, and was all praise for Borini, stating that the striker deserves his inclusion in Cesare Prandelli’s side.
While talking to Sky Sports Italia, the striker said:
“I certainly think about the national team,” he told Sky Sport Italia on Thursday. “Borini is doing really well and he deserved his call up. For now I’m in the Under-21 set-up and I always look to just give the best that I can.”
The former Padova player joined the Rossoneri in the summer transfer window, and is still part-owned by Genoa. The forward admitted that he has had to work really hard and patiently to earn a place in the playing team for the Champions.
He insisted that his experience at the Diavolo has been phenomenal for his individual growth, and he is adapting well to coach’s requirements.
“I didn’t play for two months, but Milan helped me to get stronger. Now things are improving and I am now adapting to Coach Massimiliano Allegri’s system.”
The Italian national added that it is important to have patience as a youngster. He insisted that his only objective now is to play in as many games he can and score as many as possible.
El Shaarawy, born to an Egyptian mother and Italian father, has managed just two goals in the 16 appearances for the Rossoneri so far this season.
When asked about his side’s Scudetto chances, the youngster warned his team against complacency despite a descent four-point lead over Juventus.
“We have a four-point lead, but there are many games left and we could make some mistakes.” He added.
AC Milan will take on Parma in their next game on Saturday, March 17.
