Elas Diamond to over ride her own precedent in the Princess Royal Richard Hambro EBF Stakes (Listed Race)
The three-day Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket gets into gear on Thursday, 27th September. One of the highlights of the day is the Class 1 Princess Royal Richard Hambro EBF Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares). The third race on the card will be held over a mile and four furlongs, and has promised the winner the prize money of £18,714.
Quite a few entries have earned themselves a spot and have managed that only through the impressive past performances. One of the most reliable entries in the field today is the 20 to 1 entry, Elas Diamond.
The Jeremy Noseda trained has a decent track record at Newmarket and that too during the 2010 campaign. The four-year-old bay filly remained inactive throughout the 2011 season, and then resurfaced at York during the current season. Today will be her second attempt at racing.
She missed the maiden stakes on 17th September, 2010 at Newmarket over a mile. She missed the chance to overcome it by the mark of a length while the favourite entry, Khawlah, went through the wire giving the connections a chance to look through the future possibilities for the under charge.
Danehill Dancer’s daughter was entered as the favourite in the European Breeders’ Fund Maiden Stakes Division II on 14th October, 2010 at Nottingham over a mile and half a furlong.
Riding with jockey, Ryan Moore, the winner led the field of eleven by the margin of twelve lengths.
Her first outing after clearing the maiden was a listed race.
She settled second in the Bet365.com E B F Montrose Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) at Newmarket over a mile.
Blue Bunting won the race with jockey, Ahmed Ajtebi, by the margin of a length and set the favourite entry, Elas Diamond, into the second slot.
Taking up the third position was, Whisper Louise.
Her seasonal debut was in the EBF Stobart PJA Testimonial Lyric Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) on 27th July, 2012 at York over a mile and 2 ½ furlongs.
Elas Diamond finished sixth in the field of eight with jockey, Shane Kelly, while the race was won by the favourite entry, Barefoot Lady.
Coupled with jockey, Frankie Dettori, the four-year-old has all the chances of being the first one to race across the wire.
