Elastic Bands for Braces- How to use?

Question

Does anyone know how long the bands for braces need to be kept on and when are they supposed to be taken off?

-Also, does anyone know the purpose of them? what do they really do?

you should wear them all of the time except for brushing your teeth. you can also take them out when you eat if you choose to. they are use to correct alignment and/or overbit or underbit. and i had my rubberbands for about 2 months, but some people need them longer depending on the case and what the orthodontist told you to do. hope I helped!

only take them off while eating

they keep you from getting overbites

make sure you keep them on for how long as the doc tells you.

it will make or break how long you have braces on for.

If your talking about the rubberbands, they are used to pull your top teeth down, and your bottom teeth up so there isn't a space between them. Your orthodontist should tell you how long you have to wear them for.
