Elastics and Braces?

Question

I have to wear elastics on my braces for the last part of the treatment. I wore them without taking them off for the first month but I ran out for a while and the elastics came in a week or so. The last month I didn't wear them that continuously ...it doesn't really look like it but would my teeth have completely reverted?

i don't think so.

if you wear the elastics more, the braces will come off sooner.

i've seen people delay their deband date by up to 6 months by not wearing the elastics.

They couldn't have completely reverted, but they have moved some. You'd be surprised how fast your teeth can move when you don't wear your rubber bands right.

I got my braces off a year ago, but I always wore my elastics. Now I'm on my retainer, and you DEFINITELY have to make sure you wear that when you should.

I would suggest starting to wear them every day for a while until they feel normal and how they did when you were wearing them like you should. That way you don't have to possibly have your braces longer or get in trouble by your orthodontist.

it takes a lot of time for them to completely revert

mostly they never make it because theyre so use to being straight from the braces
