Elber Giovane believes all Bayern Munich require is unity in their ranks- Bundesliga News
Former Bayern Munich striker, Elber Giovane, has revealed that the Bavarians were lacking unity during the recently concluded 2010/11 season. He believes that the club performed well below the expectations and thought that Bayern should have at least won
a single piece of silverware in the season ended.
Elber also showed concern over the dip in form of his former team and urged the players to think from the team’s perspective. He thought that most of the players at Bayern are concerned with their own form and seemingly everyone plays with a fear of losing
their place form the first team. Giovane urged the club officials to provide the sense of security to every individual in order to restore the team’s lost momentum.
The 38-year-old expressed grief over his team’s UEFA Champions League performances during the 2010/11 season, where they were knocked out by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the round-of-16. Bayern were the runners-up in the same competition during the 2009/10 and had lost
to the same opposition in Santiago Bernabeu.
The Brazilian reckoned that Munich are still not up to the levels of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Real Madrid and thinks that the club needs to work very hard in order to have any chance of beating the Spanish power houses in the future.
He further enthused, "We are not there [on the level of Barcelona and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid] yet. Barcelona played incredibly last season. Real Madrid have good players, but Barcelona were a bridge too far for them.”
Elber was a player at Bayern from 1997 to 2003 and managed 169 league appearances, netting in 92 goals during the process. He also made 15 international appearances for the Brazilian national side, managing seven goals in return. Apart from Bayern, the former

He concluded by saying, "At Bayern, the team is more important than the individuals. Just like in 2001 - we were strong as a unit. The team must become strong again. Bayern Munich must be a collective force."
Bayern Munich finished the 2010/11 season third on the table behind Bayer Leverkusen and Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund.
