i've been playing tennis, and when i serve my elbow starts to hurt. It's the elbow joints that hurt, every time that i serve. Is this the symptoms of a tennis elbow??

i've also tried all the tennis elbow exercises on the internet, and all it's doing is stretching the muscles around my elbow, i doubt it's gonna help.

tell me what i can do.

  1. Hello, Sounds like tennis elbow, but I believe the pain from that, is usually toward the outside part of the elbow.  I played baseball thru college and professionally and speaking of exercises, my trainers always said if your elbow hurts on the inside, you need to do exercises that strengthen the outer forearm and vice versa for if the pain is on the outside, strenghten the inner forearm.  Anyway, rest/time is usually all that will help.

  2. You'll need to lay off the elbow to give it some time and rest to heal.  If you do play, put on a good elbow brace, to help prevent further injury.  If you keep hurting it, it will stick around for a long, long time.  Try changing your strings to something softer, like Natural Gut (at least in the mains), and lower the tension a bit.  There are even balls for tennis elbow sufferers that reduce impact shock by 15 percent. Get a racquet that is a bit heavier, and headlight - it will absorb the impact better than light, head-heavy racquets.  Glucosamine (with Chondroitin) supplements may also help your joints (some people don't notice a difference, many do). There also may be something wrong with your serving motion that is causing the elbow pain.  I would consider taking a private lesson on serving to see if you can improve your serving motion.  Its important to serve "gracefully", with a relaxed arm.  When your arm is better, you should also consider lifting weights to strengthen your arm. Your arm muscles (forearm especially), act as a natural brace to protect your joints from damage.  Good luck!

  3. Ughh don't you hate the feel of that pain in your elbow?Well,to start answering your question and helping you get rid of this problem, let me tell you I have had this experience before and somewhat still do. First, you want to ice your elbow for 10-15 minutes after each match play.Next thing you want to do is get a tennis elbow brace. There is one that a brand called ACE makes and it runs 20-30$ US dollars that is very helpful.Basically I would highly recommend icing down your elbow, and looking into a tennis elbow brace,as they are of major help to you and your elbow.Good luck!

  4. Your problems.

    1. You are playing with the wrong racquet, I thinking something like Regular size or midplus, like the Nblade 98, or Kblade 93 or 98.

    2. You are playing with the wrong string on your racquet, like Multifilament, or Polyester.

    to solve

    1. Trying a demo racquet, something oversize, like the Babolat Aero Pure Drive, the K Six Two, K Sting. Anything that is Oversize and Light.

    2. Don't get too far ahead of the string, but rather try Synthetic Gut Only.

I'm not trying to be an ***, if these 2 are not working then I will give you 10points instead!
