I remember a store in Sydney that had "elder" in it name but I forgot what it is called. It was an agricultural store. Does anyone know its full name?

  1. Elders GM if my memory serves me correctly. I think it still exists in country areas, don't know about the city.

  2. Elders became Elders Goldsborough Mort - see http://about.elders.com.au/history.asp - and are back to being known as Elders today. They were stock and station agents selling live stock e.g. sheep and cattle for farmers and graziers up until about 20 years ago.

They are heavily into real estate these days. http://www.eldersrealestate.com.au/

You will find out more about them at http://www.elders.com.au/

By the look of it they still do the rural stuff. They have added some banking and finance, real estate and insurance and communications.

    I hope that this helps.

  3. ELDER ZYON

  4. The stores were called Elders & then that was sometimes followed by the owners name or business name.

They seem to have gone from city type areas since Bunnings moved in.

You may find such stores listed as agricultural/farm supplies or stock and station supplies in the phone book or on-line.
