Election Speech for Eighth Grade...?

Question

Ok, so I'm running for National Junior Honors Society this year and I want my speech to be absolutely perfect. I need ideas for how to start and end it. I'm stuck because everything I come up with is to boring. I need something that will get their attention and get them to listen to what I have to say. My audience is sixth, seventh, and eighth graders and there's a lot of them. I want them to jump out of their seats and really listen to me. Also, I could use any other speech ideas you come up with as well. Like I said, I want to deliver a perfect speech. Please help.

Wow! You have to make a speech for us the teachers just checked our grades and signed us up. Make up jokes along the way and say how smart you are!
