Does this look legit? Does is cost money to text? How far do you think it can go? My friend lives 5 houses down from me and her parents won't let her have a phone so will these work?

The description says "Unit works within limited distance of each other."

And since it's from a store such as Limited Too, that basically means it will work from about 2 feet away...if you're lucky.
