Electric,,,, has anyone in Eastbourne suddenly started spending more?

on their electric for no apparent reason, ours keeps running out and uses bout twice as much all of a sudden. BN21

This sometimes happens when a criminal by-passes the electricity meter in order to use huge amounts of power to grow their 'drugs crop' . Ring up the Electricity Authority & let them know of your concerns.Check first to see that your water heater thermostat is not faulty, as this would cause a high use of power at the meter.

Hi Fed up UK Citizen, This was happening in Devon, it looked like people were paying for their neighbour's electricity and the street lights. I had a look at a few bills of my neighbour's and discovered they were paying daytime rates when they should have been paying night rates, so their bills had doubled. Worth asking your electricity provider to explain the sudden increase.

Any new electric toys in the house? whats thier power consumption like.

Perhaps your neighbour has drilled through the wall and done some rewiring when you had that last powercut.
