Electric Bike Parts?

Question

I'm thinking of building my own electric bike, and I have compiled a list of all the things I think I need. They are as follows:

36-48 V Motor

20 Amp Controller

Thumb Throttle

(2) 36-70 V Lead Acid Batteries

Battery Charger

So is that all I need for a basic electric bike? And do I just wire them together and attach the motor to the wheels to get it running?

I've never built one, but you are on the right track. I'd suggest checking out some plans online. Here are a few that you might get a few ideas from.
