Electric Car Windows?

My right rear passanger window will not go up, the motor works but when I push the button on the pannel it just makes noise.

  1. The regulator is bad.  Sounds like a serious problem, but it's not.  It's just that something in the gears/levers is broken.  It's WAY to much trouble to fix yourself - you have to take the door panels off - so just take it to a window specialty place (look in the yellow pages) or the dealer.  It'll cost maybe $300.  Ask around.

  3. Sounds like a stripped window motor gear or a window regulator web belt that has holes that are out of shape for the motor gear to align with.  If so, the door trim panel will have to be removed for an internal inspection.

  6. i don't much about electric cars but have you had ur timing belt checked? is it a smart for two car? go to your dealer and see if they can take a look under the hood or on the panel.
