Cheaper than replacing blades on rotary shavers, the advert claims, but do they really sharpen as they claim?

  1. I use a straight razor, so no, I don't have one.  I do sharpen my razors, however, using a whetstone.

  2. My Norelco is a self sharpening razor and it seems to work well, but you need to keep it clean with one of their kits.

Important: Cutters and combs are a matched set and should not be interchanged.  If you do interchange the cutters and combs, the shaving performance may be adversely affected for the next few shaves until blades reseat themselves.

The self-sharpening rotary blades are precision made to give close shaves.  When they finally do need replacing, keep the close shaves going by specifying only Norelco brand replacement cutters and combs.

  3. In a word, no.

  4. The answer is yes. I bought one from a mag in the mirror newspaper for £14.99 and use it every 2 weeks although they tell you to take each rotating blade out one at a time, I just hold it against the font of the blade for 10 seconds and have found it works well.
