Electric coffee maker no longer boils the water

Hi My coffee maker does not start to boil the water when I connect it to the electric charging stand and pressed the 'boil' button. The orange light on the machine is very faint. I am pretty sure that the problem is not with the charging stand, because I connected my friend's coffee maker to it and it started to boil the water. I spoke to a retailer of these machines and he told me that Bialetti has had quite a few problems with this model. I would like to know whether I can repair it by replacing a part of the coffee machine, or should I just throw it out. I hope you can offer some adviceThanks Steve
