  1. First of all, you will never fully learn it. Even master players are still learning. It's funny though when I hear this kind of question, the old saying comes to mind: The harder you work, the luckier you seem to get.

Practice, practice and then practice some more, it don't come easy, but the rewards of hard work are worth every minute of the frustration you feel when you first start playing. Good luck, and keep up the good work

  2. Hi Tab

First thing, you can learn guitar in 6 months to play with a little decency. You can even play good about 2 years but, it takes a lifetime to master the instrument.

As long as you keep in mind that their is always something to learn and you consider yourself just good even if those think you are awesome, then you will always advance and not let it go to your head.

You want to learm, sit down zand listen to a lot of music and play and improvise over it. This way, you are practicing your timing, getting a good ear training and learning to improvise and input your own creativity like a painter with a paintbrush.

  3. You should be able to learn and play the basic chords with some skill in about 6 months.  Once you feel comfortable moving from chord to chord quickly - try learning a song by ear.  Stick with simple three chord rock and roll songs.  If you have some stage presence, I have no doubt you can be in a band, whether or not you're any good.  It's all about the attitude.

  4. What first comes to mind is make sure you get your school homework out of the way first and then reward yourself with guitar practice and play.  Second thing that comes to mind is an 80's girl band called "The Go Go's".  Hearsay has it that not one of these girls new how to play their respective instrument before starting their band.  They became a huge success.  Belinda Carlisle was the lead vocalist and departed for a solo carreer.  But they essentially had the same idea and success was theirs to revel and squander.  Good luck!
