Electric or acoustic?? guitar?

Question

ok so im wanting to learn how to play guitar i kinda have some of the basics down on acoustic but.. im teaching myself is there any websites that anyones know tat will help and my plan is to be in a band im currently working on my screaming cuz i want to do screamo im getting pretty good at it but i also wanna learn guitar electric really bad but what should i do since im teaching myself?? what to start with i got the basic chords down but im stuck as to what i shoud do now i dont know anything that i can/should do please help

go to ultimate-guitar.com.  electric and acoustic are the exact same.  you just can't get the sweet squeals and bends are tougher on acoustic.  i would go ahead and learn some metallica songs as they are the basis for so much metal and screamo.  learn your sus2/4 chords.  alternate picking is huge.

Choose whatever guitar you really want to play. I started on electric and can still play classical guitar. Electric is easier to play and it does involve a few more techniques than acoustic or classical guitar.

You have arpeggios or sweeps, hammer-ons, bends, pull-offs, slurs, finger-tapping etc.....

Many of these can be played on acoustic but they are not as effective.

If you wanna play screamo, you're going to want an electric.  Plain and simple, that genre is almost exclusively electric guitar.
