  1. It's f**ked!

  2. The solenoid valve is failing to open. Contact gainsborough spares department  quoting the model & serial No's ( or look up electric shower spares on the web ) easy to replace

  3. The shower will have an internal valve operated by an electromagnet. Sounds like the electromagnet is trying to open the valve but it is jammed. You probably need a plumber to sort it, but weigh the costs of a new part (including waiting for it to be delivered) and the costs of a plumber to fit it against the costs of a new shower. (i.e. it may be cheaper, and even if you fix the valve something else may go wrong with it next month!)

  4. Take the head off the wall, and lower it as as as it will go. Turn the shower to cold and turn it on. Wait for 30 seconds, if no water comes out, then yes, it's broken. Turn it off.

  5. Maybe limescale is the problem and a piece has lodged itself in the valve area stopping it opening. Is water pressure OK?
