Electric superchargers?

Question

i would like to know anything there is to know about electric superchargers ik they are assumed to give 2-3 psi to your car whichh everyone says is a lie but in the next week i am going to test this theory so just let me know what you guys know about these chagers decrease in power increase in power? nothing happens just noise ect...

I just can't see that one of these units would generate that much boost. They don't spin fast enough and their motors are not strong enough to provide the boost that they claim.

A turbo spins very fast; most peak between 20,000 and 100,000 RPM. And some run a lot higher (200,000 RPM) than that. I doubt very much that these electric units are running at anywhere near that speed.

Sounds like 'snake oil' to me. A lot of high pitched noise does not necessarily mean power production.

your engine sucks in more air at full throttle than that fan is capable of pushing. that fan may even act as a restriction and cut your power down... a leaf blower might provide you with 2-3 psi... seen it done

I've only ever seen one electric supercharger that worked, and you wont find it for sale on ebay, it was a one off custom built unit. The ones sold on ebay will not create 2lb of boost if anything they will restrict the airflow to the engine and make less power. A decent s***w type supercharger will take 15 hp to drive it at 20psi on a V8. You can probably imagine the size of dc motor that would be required to match that kind of power....

746watts = 1 hp

746 x 15hp = 11190watts

watts / volts = amps

11190watts / 12volts = 932amps?!?!

so it would take way more power than your cars alternator is capable of producing to operate an effective electric supercharger...........dont waste your money
