Electrical Engineering application?

Hello, I am applying to the Electrical Engineering Department at my school and one of the criterion is to write a personal statement(an essay) that would give the admission's officers a better understanding of why I am interested in this field.

These are sample prompts:

(1) Describe how you could bring a broader perspective to the engineering classroom based on your awareness of cultural differences.

(2) Describe any personal hardship or barriers you have faced and explain how they have affected your education

What can I write about?

Answer 1

They appear to be looking for three things:

1. You can write clearly and communicate well.

2. A cooperative attitude. (They know what you gain. What do you offer?)

3. Some personal revelation, (Be sure your 'barriers or hardships' discussions don't reveal the wrong attitude.)
