  1. A street light maybe.  I had one outside my apartment that made the most god awful noise until the bulb finally burned out.

  2. It could be a sign of trouble, ... or nothing at all.

Try to locate it, but don't handle or try to open

anything, that's noisy, just listen, and locate, so you

can tell someone qualified where to look.

    Wait for Mom.

If there's any heat or burning smell, call for help.

  3. USA   Not enough info.  Where is the noise emanating from?  A transformer on a pole?  Contact the electric utility immediately.  Your circuit breaker or fuse box should protect you from normal electrical problems, but if there are power surges you should UNPLUG all appliances, TVs, computers, etc... until the problem is solved.  Here in PA two homes have had their appliances and TVs blown out this week due to electric utility transformer malfunctions.

Don't take the chance.  Unplug your stuff and call the power company.

  4. This would most likely be from a security light. They operate from a transformer above the bulb. Very often they will have a buzz that is loud enough to be heard. Go out and see if you can pin point it to the light.

Not a real problem, if furnished by power company just give them a call and they will come out and repair it if necessary.

  5. High humidity  and the electrical system is leaking a little electricity. It is normal we hear it when it is raining from the ht lines close to us sometimes

  6. It could be many things. Air conditioner,  Street light, Transformer.. Probably nothing to worry about. But to be sure, look outside, if there is smoke or fire call 911. If not and you're just scared, call your mom or a relative.

  7. Verdugo: throw a rock at it... it may be a buzzing bug. those freak'n bugs are so loud it can scare people up the a$$
